Have you ever been forced to eat something unhealthy when on the run because there’s nothing healthy to eat or limited time?
I know I have. But with a little pre-planning, this can be a problem of the past!
When you are on the go or don’t even have time to make something healthy to eat, having a few healthy snacks that you can throw in your bag or car can at least reduce the chances of the muffin or chocolate bar stop. The problem is these snacks need to be portable and unperishable otherwise you’ll end up with soggy, tasteless mush that you won’t even want to eat! Here’s 7 great portable snacks:
- A fresh fruit e.g. apple, banana, pun net strawberries or dried fruit e.g. dried apricots or dates
- Tin of tuna or salmon
- Tin of baked beans, 4 bean mix or corn
- Grain crackers
- Nut bar or nut & fruit bar
- A punnet of cherry tomatoes or a cucumber or vegetable sticks
If you have a cooler bag handy then things like yoghurt, boiled egg or cheese can be a quick and easy snack option too.
