Consultation costs and rebates

Consultation costs and rebates

Consultation costs will vary depending on if your consultation is an initial, follow-up review appointment or package that includes several appointments. Please enquire for specific costs.

Our dietitian is registered with Medicare, DVA, private health funds and the NDIS. So, if you are eligible for any of these services and have a referral from your GP or dietitian extras cover included in your private health fund package you will be able to access these benefits. Below are more details on these.

Medicare rebates

With some chronic conditions, your GP may refer you using a Referral Form for Individual Allied Health Services under Medicare. Your eligibility will be determined by your GP. When this applies to you, Medicare will contribute to the cost of your consultation. You will need to put Gloria Cabrera as the dietitian you are referred to. We just require a copy of your referral form to process the rebate once you’ve had your appointment.

DVA

If you have an eligible white or gold card and have an assessed clinical need for an accepted dietetic service and a referral from your GP to see a dietitian, the DVA can cover the cost of your appointments. We just require a copy of your referral.

NDIS

If your NDIS package includes dietetic services we will be able to invoice your NDIS plan management team for your consultations. We will need details of your package and your plan manager contact details.

Private Health Funds

If you have a private health fund that includes dietitian/dietetics extras you will be able to claim part of the cost of your consultation. Your rebate depends on your health fund, your cover and if it’s an initial or subsequent appointment. Contact your health fund to enquire.

Others

There may be other cases where your consultation is partially or fully covered such as relevant approved workers compensation. Please contact us to enquire.
